Wisdom from Class: "...a greater fool has to figure shit out."

Let me go dispose of my self-doubt, mold a million rambling thoughts in my head into one concrete goal, and turn off my hyperaware consideration of people around me and their thoughts and feelings and perspectives. Shazam! I am a greater fool! Being a greater fool sounds like a dream. Just kidding. It sounds really difficult and would take so much energy and self-motivation I am not surprised there are only a few people that end up in history books. Companies certainly need these kinds of people. They need creative innovation, but failure is a big part of being a greater fool and you would have to be a very stable person to lead that kind of life; giving 110% effort every day and convincing others you are worth investing in. But, legacy is key, and the greater fool model seems to be the one to follow. The other day I had a conversation with Professor Mark and we were talking about happiness. He said that happiness was not the end all be all of life. It was so strange to hear out loud. I know happiness isn’t the ultimate thing, but there is so much emphasis on it. Just go to any self-help section in a book store and look at the titles. So, fulfillment and legacy seem to be the top priority as of now. I hope I can build the qualities of being a greater fool, but it won’t be easy; I guess realizing that is a good first step, eh?
